Weekend in Paamul

Hi everyone!

Last weekend, I went to Paamul with my friend Lisse. It is a small place in between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. A friend of mine told me that you are allowed to camp on the beach, so we spent our weekend here! At first, we were planning on going with 4 girls, but in the end only me and Lisse went.

We bought a tent at Walmart for 600 pesos, and also a yoga mat to sleep on (lol, bad idea). Saturday morning, we took the colectivo across the big ADO station, to Playa del Carmen. When we arrived, we had some lunch at the beach and went for a little shopping. After that, we took the colectivo to Paamul. You have to tell the driver to stop at the place where you want to stop, so we got dropped on the highway. We didn't know where to go, so we just walked a long path, and finally arrived at the Paamul Playa.

There were more cabins and small apartments, but we didn't know if we were at the right place. We asked for a camp spot right on the beach, but unfortunately this wasn't possible :(

Although, we got a pretty nice spot, only 10 meters from the beach, so no complaining.

We set up the tent and went to the beach, which was very calm and quiet and thus a perfect spot. It is in between the big Sian Ka'an woods, so there is a jungle around the beach.

In the evening, we had dinner and cocktails at a small restaurant. We also met some guys who were making a time-lapse this week in Paamul, for a project in America. We had some drinks with them and went to sleep pretty early, because we had a long day!!

The next morning, we got up early to watch the sunrise. We were told to do so, because it seemed to be very pretty! Unfortunately, it was a little too cloudy, so we could not see very much of the sun. But, the air was beautiful blue though. We went for a swim as well.

We went back to sleep, because it was only 6 am :) Around 8 am we took some breakfast at the restaurant. I had some quesadillas and coffee and Lis took a fruit plate.

Later on, we went back to Playa del Carmen and had some shopping over there! Around 4 pm, there suddenly was a huge storm, which made us stay in Playa del Carmen for a little while. We decided to go for a pizza and some red wine.

We took the bus back to Cancún around 6:30 pm, because we both had to work this Monday. It was a very nice trip and we loved the seaside! We might go back as well.
