PUERTO MORELOS
Another village in the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, is Puerto Morelos. The village is located about halfway between Cancún and Playa del Carmen. Nowadays, the fishing village located on the Caribbean Sea counts about ten thousand people.
It was almost the case that there would be a huge seaside resort arisen here. When the Hotel Zone of Cancún was crammed, they went looking for a second location to develop a modern resort. Puerto Morelos was high on the nomination to fall prey to mass tourism. Eventually, Playa del Carmen was going to play this role. Whether it is still relatively untouched, Puerto Morelos still will long remain compact. The location is perfect and the beaches are stunning white with a turquoise sea.

Puerto Morelos attracts very many divers, as the Grand Mayan Reef is located about 800 meters from the coast. The area around the town is also very nice, owing to the botanical gardens and the mangrove swamp. Also, Zoo Crococun is located near the village. The most special building is the sloping lighthouse, which was skewed due to Hurricane Beulah.
The warm and sometimes even hot summer days are alternated with heavy rain that feels like a shower. It rains in Puerto Morelos mostly from June to October. Winters here are much more pleasant and relatively dry compared to the summer. In sunny weather, the sea gets a beautiful green / blue color.
