ISLA MUJERES, THE ISLAND OF WOMEN

Yesterday Miquel and I went to the beautiful island ‘Isla Mujeres’. At 2 o’clock we took the ferry from Playa Tortugas and a couple of minutes later we arrived at Isla Mujeres. We first wanted to rent a golf car, but there were so many tourists that there were no cars left, or it was too busy at the rental. So we decided to rent a moped. It didn’t have any insurance and the brakes didn’t work well. Very safe! Furthermore the beaches were amazing! At the bars in front of the beaches you can order the most delicious mojitos and some really nice nachos ‘con pollo’. It was too bad that the last ferry left at already 17.30h, so we couldn’t see the sunset on the beach. But sunset on the ferry was also nice. What made it even better was the man on the ferry, who was playing mexican songs on his guitar. After we took the bus to downtown, we went to Las Americas to get some really nice and fat burgers with a delicious milkshake. I don’t remember the name of the place, it was something with ‘Johnny’. After all, I recommend everyone to go to Isla Mujeres once, it is beautiful, has the best mojitos and also a lot of tourist shops.
