UNDERWATER MUSEUM

This is not a dirty old museum you see in every big city, this is a one of a kind amazing museum that comes with an amazing experience. A non-profit organization in Mexico has put about 500 sculptures under water near Isla Mujeres. You can either go snorkelling or diving to see this amazing artwork under water. Between 2009 and 2012 they are placed from 3 to 5 meters deep in the water. Important Mexican artists made the sculptures and they had this idea to create a underwater museum formed of nature by coral reef around the sculptures.

 

The sculptures are statues that show humans interacting with the environment around them. The purpose of this museum is to protect the actual corral reefs around Cancun that have been damaged by the many visitors.
